Design of a Healthcare Unit for Rural Healthcare Workers (2003)

Client: Office of Ditrict HealthCare and Family Welfare, Guwahati
Duration: 3 months

A severe shortage of medical personnel and facilities is the major problem in the north-east India. Mostly, rural health workers who are moderately trained for early diagnosis are the only hopes of many patients in various remote villages.

We started off with ethnographic study of rural areas, culture, Rural health worker duties etc; followed by interviews with rural health workers to get a better understanding of their education background, work process & operational sequences, types of data they gather etc.
