Portal Design for Employee Benefits Administration (2008)


Client: UnitedHealth Group, Inc.
Duration: 3 months

I worked in a role of Interaction Designer on the project to help User Experience & Design group at UHG to develop Information Architecture and Conceptual Design of its new Business-to-Business (B2B) Benefits Administration portal.

This redesign effort was divided in six phases that included Analysis & strategy, User Research, Information Architecture, UI Prototyping, Usability testing, and Visual template creation.

specific accomplishments included:

  • Developed Information Architecture for the overall benefits administration including transactional flow management.
  • Developed Conceptual screen designs (Wireframes) aligned with afore mentioned work flows and information architecture.
  • Refined the conceptual designs (Mid-fidelity) based on Usability Testing results.
  • Developed high-fidelity XHTML/CSS templates and defined presentational and behavioral design attributes.
